"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." A few years ago our family was vacationing in the island of Belitung, Indonesia. As the tour guide was driving us around I noticed that many of the houses shared an architectural feature: they had a front main entrance, nice and formal, and then to the side of the house, set back some distance but also facing the front a smaller, more humble-looking door. I asked the guide what the purpose was of this arrangement.
